The phone add-ons

The phone side of Astragal is two separate add-ons on top of your plan: take one, both or neither.

Who can do this: Admins turn add-ons on and off. Dispatchers and accountants can see them.

Add-on: AI receptionist Add-on: Phone line

Also called: add-ons, extras.

An AI receptionist answers the calls you can’t get to, takes the caller’s details and books them in.

  • $39 a month for the whole company, whatever its size.
  • Includes 100 AI answering minutes a month; each extra minute is 50¢.
  • The natural, lifelike voice is included. There used to be a separate “Natural voice” add-on; it was retired and nothing extra is needed. You choose the voice under AI voice in the AI receptionist settings (see Choosing a voice).
  • On its own, calls that reach your Astragal number go to the AI receptionist rather than ringing your team in the app.

Your business line lives in Astragal: make and take calls in the app, with call history, recordings and notes on every client. Pick one package of talking minutes, shared by the whole company:

PackagePrice a month
500 minutes$39
1,000 minutes$69
2,000 minutes$129
4,000 minutes$279
8,000 minutes$549

Past your package, each extra minute is 10¢. You have one package at a time; picking another swaps it, and No phone line turns it off. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus tax where it applies.

  1. Open Plan & billing and scroll to Add the phone, if you want it.

On a computer: Left menu → Settings → Plan & billing On a phone: More → Settings → Plan & billing

The Add the phone, if you want it list with both add-ons

  2. Flip the Answer my missed calls switch, or pick a package under Run my phone line here. What this comes to updates straight away with a line for each add-on and the new monthly total.

What this comes to with a line for each add-on and the new monthly total

  3. Click Update my plan and confirm. Cancel undoes your picks.

The Update my plan and Cancel buttons under the monthly total

  • An add-on turned on part-way through the month is charged only for the part of the month it was on. Turning one off stops it straight away, on the same basis. What you used while it was on still appears on that month’s bill.
  • When you change package mid-month, you pay for the part of the month each package was on. That month’s included minutes are those of the bigger package, not the two added together.
  • On a yearly plan, add-ons are paid for the same year, at twelve months of their monthly price.
  • An add-on marked Included at no charge was given to you free: it can’t be switched here, and its minutes aren’t counted against a limit.
  • If we ever stop offering an add-on, it stops charging the moment it stops working. It stays listed so you can turn it off.

Some features aren’t add-ons at all. Rewards, for example, is a company switch: it costs nothing, and an admin turns it on in its own settings. See How rewards work.

You still have a phone number, because texting your clients needs one. A caller who rings it is texted a link to book or send you their details. You don’t get the in-app dialpad, call history, recordings, the notetaker or AI answering.
